Education for a Lifetime
  • Healthy Relationships Are Important.

They take time and work, but they’re worth the effort!

According to the Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan, “90% of high school seniors say that a good marriage and family life is ‘quite’ or ‘extremely’ important to them.” So how do you make this a reality?

The average American gets married at 25. That may seem like a long time away to teens but it sneaks up faster than you think! It’s important to start preparing for a good marriage through the healthy relationships you have today. Here are three things you can be doing NOW:

1Determine the qualities you would like to see in your future spouse and start building those qualities into your own life. The kind of person you are will have a lot to do with the kind of person you attract.

2Learn and practice relationship skills now that will help you have a solid marriage and stable family in the future. Work on the strengths you will bring to the partnership.

3Make sure you are building relationships on a strong foundation so that when marriage becomes a possibility, you know how to start and sustain a healthy relationship based on shared values and true commitment.

Enjoying healthy relationships is a matter of choice—YOURS!
